How to Create an Account
Step-by-step instructions to register a CrawlSage profile and claim your daily credits.
Overview
CrawlSage uses passwordless authentication to protect your account and domains. You do not need to create or remember any passwords. This guide explains how to register your profile and claim your initial set of 50 complimentary credits to run audits.

Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have access to:
- A valid personal or business email address.
- Or a Google account (for single-click Google OAuth setup).
Step-by-Step Guide
- Access the Onboarding Portal: Navigate to app.crawlsage.com or click the "Get Started" button in the website navigation bar.
- Choose Your Authentication Method:
- Option A (Google OAuth - Recommended): Click "Google Sign Up". Authorize CrawlSage to access your email and profile name in the Google prompt.
- Option B (Passwordless Email OTP): Enter your Full Name and Email Address in the form inputs, then click "Continue with Email".
- Confirm Registration:
- If you selected Google OAuth, you will be authenticated and redirected to the dashboard immediately.
- If you selected Email OTP, a 6-digit one-time code will be dispatched to your inbox. You will be redirected to the
/verify-otppage. Enter the code and click "Verify Code".
Expected Result
Upon successful verification, you will be redirected to the main dashboard workspace (/audits). Your free tier account will be activated, and a balance of 50 SEO credits will display in the header status bar.

Best Practices
- Use Google OAuth: Choosing Google OAuth eliminates email delivery latency and secures your account with Google's biometric protections.
- Verify Workspace Timezone: On your first login, visit Account Settings to verify the timezone coordinates. This ensures scheduled crawlers run during your site's lowest traffic hours.
Common Mistakes
- Closing the verification page prematurely: If you close the OTP input page while waiting for the email, you can trigger a new link from the login page, but the older code will invalidate.
- Entering incorrect emails: Double-check for typos. The OTP system cannot report if an email is invalid or undeliverable.
Troubleshooting
- OTP code is not arriving:
- Wait 60 seconds (delivery times vary depending on your email filter latency).
- Check your Spam or Promotions folders.
- Click "Resend Code" on the input form to dispatch a new verification OTP.
