Problem
CrawlSage is unable to connect to your WordPress site integration, returning authentication or REST API rejections.
Symptoms
- Clicking **Test Connection** in the plugin dashboard returns "API Connection Failed".
- Applying an AI SEO fix returns a red "REST API Forbidden (401)" alert badge.
Possible Causes
- The workspace API connection token has refreshed or expired.
- WordPress REST API is disabled by a local security plugin.
Resolution
- Navigate to your CrawlSage **Project Settings → API Keys** page.
- Generate a new token key and copy the string value.
- Log in to your WordPress admin panel and open the **CrawlSage Settings** menu.
- Clear the token field, paste the new key, and click **Save Connection**.
- Click **Test Connection** to verify status.
Verification
A green "Telemetry Active" status indicates the authentication handshake is complete.
